Infrared Sauna in France

Infrared sauna in France runs more conservative than in the US, with most providers operating IR cabins as part of broader spa offerings rather than dedicated IR-only studios. The Sunlighten and Health Mate cabin distributors operate in France through specialised retailers; commercial cabins are mostly imported.

Pricing: €25–50 per session, €100–250 for monthly memberships in larger Paris and Lyon spas. Cabins typically run 50–65 °C far-infrared, with some full-spectrum models in higher-end venues.

The research most-cited for sauna cardiovascular benefit (Laukkanen 2015, 2018) is from traditional Finnish sauna at 80–90 °C, not IR. Direct IR studies (Beever 2009, Ohori 2012) are smaller. The 'detox via sweat' marketing claim is poorly supported in peer-reviewed literature; ask centers that lean heavily on those claims to point to specific studies.
